Bembridge Harbour

Just a few miles from Whitecliff bay and Sandhills Holiday Park

Bembridge Harbour has for years been the favourite watering hole for Solent Yachtsmen. We also have the enviable position of being the most convenient stop off for cross channel passages.

The Harbour gained its’ own statutory powers in 1963 and since then has been under the constant care of Charles Selwyn. Sadly, earlier this year, he passed away. He will be sorely missed.

During Charles's years in charge he took the Harbour from being a quiet sleepy inlet to a popular, bustling, Marina based Harbour.

As a result of the Harbour being designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest everything we now do is environmentally sensitive. Any further expansion must be sympathetic to the environment and with assent from Natural England.

Today the Harbour is home to approximately 400 permanent berths and has space for up to 100 visiting yachts. Many local businesses have flourished as a result of the increased Harbour use and we also have a water taxi to ferry yachtsmen to various landing points in St Helens and Bembridge.

The Harbour is run by a small team of permanent staff (shown alongside) and some seasonal dock staff and water taxi drivers.
